Obituary of Barbara Anne Lynch

Barbara Anne Lynch, 45, of Hopatcong, passed away at home Wednesday, August 25th, 2010, following a long illness.
Barb a fencer since high school was honored with a lifetime membership to the USFA (United States Fencing Association) based on her long standing contribution to the sport. She was a former vice president of the USFA and was chair of the NJ division for over 10 years. She coached Morris Hills High school for 21 years and has received countless coaching awards in that tenure. Her legendary organizational skills led her be appointed as bout committee chair (the person who runs fencing events) for many, many national fencing tournaments and championships. This December the fourth annual Barb Lynch Regional Youth Circuit will occur. It is a fencing event in her honor that utilizes an entirely volunteer staff with all proceeds to going to Ovarian Cancer charities.
Her activity in girls scouts spans 20 years of service. In 1999, she became leader of her daughter's troop # 482 in Hopatcong. She was the Hopatcong Service Manager (for the Girl Scout Council) and Business Manager for the Jockey Hollow Girl Scout Camp. Morristown Neighborhood House awarded her the "Phenomenal Woman Award" for her outstanding work in girl scouting and the community.
Her generosity of spirit, the time she made for others, her willingness to get involved, will always be such a positive example for the rest of us who knew her that it can't help but be an inspiration to try harder to make our own corners of the world a better place to be.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake R.C. Church and the church parish council in Mt. Arlington.
Survived by her husband Shawn, her father Frank Campi of Rockaway Township, two children Fiona and Patrick both at home and her sister Lisa Campi of Hopatcong.
Visitation Sunday, August 29th, 2010, 1 - 5 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com ). A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, August 30th, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake R.C. Church, 1 Park Avenue, Mt. Arlington 07856 (973-398-0240).
In lieu of flowers donations are requested in her memory to Teal Ribbon Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (www.TROCRF.org) which is dedicated to the early detection of ovarian cancer.
