Robert McGinness, 84, of Mount Arlington, passed away Tuesday, January 4th ,2011, at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown. Robert was born in Newark, and has been a resident of Mt. Arlington since 2003. Previously resided in Toms River. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a Purple Heart recipient. He worked for Transport of New Jersey, Newark, and retired in 1989 after 22 years. Robert is survived by his wife Josephine (nee DiDio) of 63 years; two daughters Deborah Culver and husband Rick of Hopatcong and Kathleen Gargano and husband Greg of Roxbury. Also survived by three grandchildren Richard Culver, Kristen Gargano and Jeffrey Gargano; four siblings Thomas, Ronald, Wilma Hoffman, and Richard and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his two brothers Charles and Joseph. Visitation Monday, January 10th, 2011, 3-5 & 7-9 P.M. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Mass will be held at St. Jude Thaddeus Church, 17 Mt. Olive Road, Budd Lake, NJ 07828 (973-691-1561) at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 11th, 2011. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Township. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in his memory to the American Heart Association, 1 Union St., Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183
