Harold Schuenzel, 85, of Rockaway Township, passed away Monday, January 10th, 2011 at Troy Hills Nursing Center, Parsippany, following a short illness. Harold was born in New York, NY and has been a resident of Rockaway Township since 1962. Previously from the Bronx, NY. He was a Parishioner of St. Clement Pope & Martyr Church, Rockaway. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He worked as a Chemical Engineer at Picatinny Arsenal, Rockaway Township, and retired in 1997 after 37 years. He received his BS in Chemical Engineering from New York University. He was very active in church and loved gardening, his dog, and especially his family. Harold is survived by three sons Thomas and his wife Kathleen of Pleasant Hill, CA, Paul and his wife Lynn of Morris Plains, and Peter and his wife Patty of Randolph; one daughter Janine and her husband Rich of Bridgeton. Also survived by eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife Frances in 2008, his daughter Jeanne in 1999 and his brother Ernest in 2010. Visitation Sunday, January 16th, 2011, 2 - 5 P.M. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clement Pope & Martyr Church, 154 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Rockaway, (973-366-7095) at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, January 17th, 2011. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in his memory to The Catholic Relief Services, PO Box 17090, Baltimore, MD 21203-7090.
