Obituary of Catherine Marie Serbeck

Catherine M. Serbeck, age 58, of Morris Plains, formerly of Chester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Morris Plains. Catherine was born in Vineland, NJ, and graduated from Montclair State College. She worked at New Jersey Bell for many years before a career change to a biomedical equipment technician. She received her degree from County College of Morris and was employed by Morristown Memorial Hospital until her retirement last December. Cathie or Kate, as she was also known, is survived by her partner, Sheri Sauer, her niece Katie Serbeck, sister Marie, brothers John and Lou, and several nieces and nephews. She enjoyed playing with her two dogs, Dusty and Dillen, and loved home improvement projects of all kinds. She was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving on the Stewardship committee for many years. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on June 25, 2011, at 3:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 123 E. Blackwell St., Dover, NJ 07801.
