William G. Turner, Sr., devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather William G. Turner, Sr., 77, of Ledgewood, passed away at home, Monday, May 21st, 2012 surrounded by his family. Mr. Turner was born in Paterson and has been a resident of Ledgewood for 15 years, formerly of Ironia. He served in the U.S. Army during Peacetime. He was a Captain for the NJ State Police, West Trenton. Upon his retirement he served as Narcotics Commander Bureau Chief, West Trenton. Retired in 1987 after 29 years. Graduated from Roxbury High School in 1952. Mr. Turner was a Randolph Police Officer before enlisting with the NJ State Police. He was an avid fisherman. Survived by his wife Nancy L. of 53 years; three sons Bill, Jr. and wife Lynn of Blairstown, Scott L. and wife Carmen of Knowlton and Michael and wife Wanda of Randolph. Also survived by his brother John and wife Mindy of Randolph and seven grandchildren Kyle, Brittany, Billy, III., Heather, Michael, Jr., Brian and Olivia. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 24th, 2012, 3 - 5 PM and 7 - 9 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Services will be on Friday, May 25th, 2012, 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chester.
