Francis "Frank" G. Bertrand, 81, of Randolph, passed away Tuesday, February 18th, 2014 at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown following a long illness. Francis was born in Churubusco, NY and has been a resident of Randolph for over 42 years. Formerly of Morristown.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He worked as a Crane Operator at Operating Engineers Local #825, Newark.
When he resided in Morristown, he volunteered for the Morristown Ambulance Squad. Member of the American Legion Post #155, Whippany. He enjoyed traveling with his family. In his spare time he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He had a great ability for doing home improvements of any size or complexity. He had a special ability for growing and bringing out the beauty of the many plants in and around our home.
Survived by Frances, his wife of 54 years; son Bruce Bertrand of Randolph; daughter Terry Marrocco and her husband Frank of Readington Township. Also survived by two grandchildren Krista and Maria and his sister Janet VanHook of Budd Lake. Predeceased by his siblings Mildred LaValley, Ella LaValley, Rose LaValley, Albert Bertrand, Raymond Bertrand, William Bertrand, Doris Fitzgerald and Charles "Leo" Bertrand.
Visitation Friday, February 21st, 2014, 3 - 5 & 7 - 9 p.m. at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph. Funeral Mass at Resurrection Parish, Randolph, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22nd, 2014. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The American Cancer Society, Eastern Division, Inc., Attn: Memorial Processing Center, 6725 Lyons Street, P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
