Obituary of Charles A. Passarella

Charles A. Passarella, Jr., 73, of Rockaway, passed away Friday, April 12th, 2013 at home, following a long illness. Charles was born in Madison and has been a resident of Rockaway Boro for 40 years.
He was a member of the National Guard. He received his BA Degree from Rutgers University. Mr. Passarella worked as a Cost Accountant for Smith Industries in Florham Park, and retired in 1998 after 32 years. Former bookkeeper for Charles the Florist in Madison, a family operated business for many years.
He was a longtime member of The ARC, and served as Treasurer; longtime Rutgers football fan, he attended home games for over 20 years; avid golfer and excellent gardener.
Survived by his beloved wife Mildred "Paige" (neeJennings) of 47 years; loving father of Charles A., III and Samuel F. both of Rockaway; sister Florence DeMarzo and brother Frederick both of Madison. Also survived by nieces, nephews and many extended family members.
Visitation Monday, April 15th, 2013, 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com ). Funeral Mass at St. Cecilia's R.C. Church, Rockaway, 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 16th, 2013. Interment at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory are requested to either the Rockaway Boro Fire Department, 1 East Main Street, Rockaway, NJ 07866 or Carol Simon Cancer Center, 100 Madison Ave., Box 110, Morristown, NJ 07962 or The ARC, PO Box 123, Morris Plains, NJ 07950.
