Obituary of Eugene M. Serra, Sr.

Eugene M. Serra, 87, of Rockaway Boro, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at his home. He was born and raised in Prospect Park and moved to Rockaway in 1974 with his wife, Mary.

Eugene served in the US Army and later went on to work for Picatinny Arsenal, Rockaway as an Electrical Engineer. He retired after 40 years.

He was a H. O. Gage Model Railroad collector and a rock collector. He enjoyed building may different models and was a Mets and Giants fan.

He is survived by Mary, his wife of 42 years; son Eugene Jr., and his wife Penny of Barrington; niece Mary Anne and her husband Roger Castelein and their children Dave Castelein and Megan Castelein-Belegu.
