Obituary of Mervis Scott

Mervis Scott, 74, of Rockaway, passed away at St. Clare’s Hospital, Dover on December 15, 2017. He was a resident of Rockaway since 1982 and was formerly of Morris Plains. Mervis was a Union Representative for A.F.S.C.M.E. in Jersey City for 20 years until his retirement in 2013. He previously worked at Greystone State Psychiatric Hospital for 25 years and was also involved in the union there. He attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Boonton. Mervis is survived by Judy (Fletcher) his wife of 39 yrs., son Darrin and daughter Shana Scott both of Rockaway, 5 grandchildren Kailyn Scott, Rachel Scott, Miles Weathersby, Andrew Weathersby and Brandon Scott. He was predeceased by his son Miles Jr. in 2004, and 7 siblings Stanley, Jimmy, Felton Jr., Jean, Mel Viola, Shirley and Joanne. Visiting hours will be Friday December 22, 2017, 2017 from 9:30AM- 12:30PM with a service following at 12:30PM at Tuttle Funeral Home 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover.
