Obituary of Charles "Billy" W. Gearhart, Jr.

Charles William “Billy” Gearhart Jr., 83, passed away following a long illness on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at his residence in Kenvil, surrounded by his family. Charlie was in the Navy Reserves and was a Butcher with the A & P Tea Co. for 51 years and retired in 2003. 

Charlie has been an Associate member of the Birchwood Fire Dept since 1985 and was awarded an Honorary Life Membership on July 12, 2006. He was resident of Rockaway for 48 years before moving to Hackettstown in 2005 and then moving to Kenvil in 2017. 

Charlie was a huge Penn State Football fan, he loved playing horseshoes and going to the casino, he was Jeff Gordon fan and an avid NASCAR fan, and loved fishing especially with his sons Brian and Chucky. He was a man with a great sense of humor and would do anything for his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Barbara (Blunt) Gearhart, his three sons Kenneth and his wife Gloria of Stroudsburg, P.A., Charles III of Lake Hopatcong, Brian and his wife Kathleen of Kenvil, his three grandchildren Alesia and her husband Anthony Gallo, Travis and his wife Katelyn, and Britney Gearhart all of P.A., and his four great grandchildren, he is also survived by his sister Judie and her husband Jack Huber of Dover, his brother Frank and his wife Carol of Fl. his brother Gary and his wife Barbara of CA, his step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by sister Darlene and her husband Wayne Gahagen, his parents Charles W. and Isabel. 

Visitation Wednesday, August 22,2018, 4:00-8:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home 272 Route 10, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Service Thursday, August 23, 2018, 11:00AM also at Tuttle Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Locust Hill Cemetery, Dover.
