Obituary of Nicholas Pallis

Please share a memory of Nicholas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Nicholas Pallis was born in Analipsis, Greece on May 21, 1932, the 7th child of Evangelos and Paraskevi Paleoyiannis. In 1951, at the age of 18 he and three of his siblings emigrated to the United States to be united with their older brothers.  He proudly became an American Citizen the same year.  He resided in Dover, N.J. until 1958.  In 1958 he married Beatrice Kamitse and moved to West Milford.  He took over the family business (George’s Bar and Grill which was later renamed Pallis Bar and Grill). He was the sole proprietor until he retired in 1999.  The establishment was a local favorite for many decades.  He was an active member in St. Andrews Greek Orthodox Church in Randolph, as well as in the A.H.E.P.A. organization.  For many years he was a member of the Lions Club and was also a freemason at Silentia Lodge, Butler.

A devoted husband for 60 years, he is survived by his wife Beatrice Pallis and his five children, Mrs. Peggy Ann Kalamaras of Mountain Lakes, Dr. Basil Pallis of Vernon, Dr. Evangelos Pallis of South Glens Falls, N.Y., Mrs. Elaine Gregorio of Randolph, and Ms. Georgina Pallis of Vernon. He is survived by eight cherished grandchildren; Nicholas, Victoria, Nicole, Albert, Lisa, Anna, Timmy and Leo.  He is also survived by his twin sister Mary Aspras of Dover, several sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews.  He passed away on October 4, 2018, from complications due to cardiac and renal failure. “May his memory be eternal”.
