Hearing of someone’s passing is never a good thing but every once in a while that news makes one’s heart sink. This is one of those times. Norman and I were on different tours, but we would run into each other for various reasons quite often. If I had to name one thing that made Norman stand out from the rest of us, it would be that perpetual smile of his. It was so genuine and contagious. Norman was a great Fireman and an even greater Captain. He must have been a fantastic husband and dad. I have no doubt that Norman left this world just a little bit better for his having been here. Rest In Peace Norman, you’ll be missed........

My Sincere condolences to the entire Maguire Family. I only met your father a hand full of times, but he left enough of an impression for me to know he was a guy I would have enjoyed having a few beers with. I hope you can all find comfort in the days to follow by remembering your lives together. Away I cannot say and I will not say That he is dead, he is just away. With a cheery smile and a wave of hand He has wandered into an unknown land; And left us dreaming how very fair Its needs must be, since he lingers there.
