Obituary of Henrietta Ann Neglia

Henrietta Neglia, 100 passed away on December 25, 2018 at Stony Brook University Hospital. She was born in Corona, Queens on July 25, 1918.  She married Ciro Neglia on December 12, 1936 and had a son Ciro Jr., Henrietta was a school crossing guard at St. Leo Catholic Academy, PS 16 and PS 19 in Corona.  In 1967, she moved to Centereach.  She worked at Stony Brook University in Long Island, Mac Arthur Airport and Grants department store.  She was widowed after 67 years of marriage.

Henrietta loved knitting, Crossword puzzles, Jigsaw puzzles and the sun.  She could swim like a fish and was a scrabble fanatic and she loved to travel.

She is survived by her son Ciro F. of Rockaway, two grandchildren James F. Neglia and his wife Kelly of Sparta, Michelle E. Barber of Pocono Pines, PA., three great grandchildren Laura, Emily and James, her sister Cornelia Cavel of Centereach, Long Island, NY. Henrietta is predeceased by her husband Ciro, her daughter in law Irene,  grandson in law Anthony and her brother’s Richard and Fred Hamble.

Funeral Mass Monday, January 7, 2019 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia R.C. Church, Rockaway.
