Helen S. Danciak of Wharton, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday evening January 24, 2020 in Morristown Memorial Hospital. She was 74 years old. Born in Plainfield, NJ on September 18, 1945, Helen was one of three sisters from their parents Michael and Julia Sandor. Raised in Dunellen by her late half-brother Gustav Sovak, Helen was a graduate of Dunellen High in 1964. Helen started working for Bell Labs in Murray Hill, NJ after school and later married Michael F. Danciak on May 27, 1967 in St. John The Evangelist Church in Dunellen. After living in Neshanick Station, Hillsboro, and Rockaway, Helen raised her family in Wharton, NJ. Helen continued her higher education by receiving her BS degree from the College of St. Elizabeth in 1994. Helen retired after 30 years in the payroll department with Pfizer (formerly Warner-Lambert) in Morris Plains, NJ. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church and a resident of Wharton for 42 years. Helen loved to travel domestic and abroad with her family and circle of friends from Wharton, The Pfizer Lunch Bunch, St. Mary’s Seniors and from the YMCA. She was also fond of taking photos, visiting the shore and visiting her immediate and extended family who also knew her as Grammie. Helen is survived by her sister Mary Ann Cherasaro and her husband Nicholas from Wilmington, NC; her sister Irene Sisolak and her husband John from Fords, NJ; her sister-in-law Barbara Sovak from Dunellen, NJ; son Michael, his late wife Pamela, and his two daughters Quinn and Ava from Buffalo, NY; son Scott, his wife Viola and their children Andrew and Claire from Eden Prairie, MN; son Todd, his wife Brooke and their sons Ethan, Calin and Sage from Milton, GA. Helen was also a loving relative to many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Helen is predeceased by her parents, Michael and Julia Sandor and her brother Gustav Sovak. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 3-5 PM and from 7-9 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 31, 2020 at The Church of the Sacred Heart, South Plainfield, NJ. Interment will be held at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Helen's memory to St. Mary’s Church, 425 West Blackwell Street, Dover, NJ 07801; or Hospice of New Jersey, 400 Broadacres Dr # 1, Bloomfield, NJ 07003.
