Obituary of Suzanne McGinty

It is with God’s peace that we announce the soul of Suzanne McGinty, 85, went to join her lord on January 1, 2021.  Suzanne and her twin brother, Blaise, were born on May 28, 1935 in Greece to the late Charles and Mary Bookis.  She came to the United States when she was eleven years old and she lived in New York, New Jersey and Florida before returning to New Jersey five years ago.

Suzanne was predeceased in death by her loving husband, Howard, her dear sons, Gregory and Robert and her loving brothers, Gregory and John.  Suzanne loved children and was “Mamie” to her grandchildren Frank (Danielle), David (Emily), Robert, Christine, Gregory and great-grandson, Nolan.  She was “Aunt Sue” to fifteen nieces and nephews and to children that she embraced as family.  In addition, she leaves behind her daughter Laura Kobola and son-in-law, Frank.

When Suzanne wasn’t out shopping or dining with friends, she could often be found at home with yarn and a crochet needle in hand.  She had a great sense of humor and loved playing practical jokes. She was actively involved in her church, having a heart for children’s ministries and feeding the homeless.  Suzanne was happiest when entertaining her family and friends.  Her guests were always greeted with a beautifully set table and meals made with love.  She always offered a positive spirit and unconditional love.

Tuttle Funeral Home is assisting the family in New Jersey with interment at Volusia Memorial Park in Florida.  There will be no services at this time due to the current health concerns.  Suzanne will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
