Obituary of Joaquin Gonzalez Sr.

Dover, NJ Joaquin Gonzalez, age 82, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

Joaquin Gonzalez was born on March 14, 1938 in Puerto Rico.  "Jack" as he was referred to by many was a man of few words but was born with a heart of gold.  He was one of the first members of Casa Puerto Rico in Dover, working there as a bartender and a janitor.  He was a familiar face just about everywhere he went and was no stranger to anyone.

Joaquin enjoyed bowling and fishing but what he enjoyed most was being with his family.  Joaquin was a proud, honorable, devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.  He was a true family man and loved his family fiercely.  He could be seen at the family gatherings standing off to the side watching everyone with a smile and a laugh.  He loved that most.

He was preceded in death by his father Ramon, mother Gauadalupe, brother Renee, sister Carmen and son Edward.  He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Casilda, as well as his 9 children; Joaquin Gonzalez Jr. (Karen), Irene Baylor, Juan Gonzalez, Richard Gonzalez (Tina), David Gonzalez (Melissa), Angel Gonzalez (Rina), Joseph Gonzalez (Lynn), Elena Gonzalez (Remigio), Tina Ayala (Jose).  He is also survived by 19 grandkids and 18 great grandkids as well as his sisters Justina Lorenzo and Iraida Ruiz.

Joaquin was an extremely amazing, caring, loving and exceptionally perfect human.  He will forever be loved and missed by everyone that has ever known him.

Funeral Service 9:30 AM Saturday, February 6, 2021 also at Tuttle Funeral Home.

Interment Locust Hill Cemetery Mausoleum.
