Obituary of Lawrence John Dukin
Larry (Lawrence) Dukin passed peacefully away on March 15, 2021 after a long fight with various health problems. He was 69 years old.He is survived by his daughter, Mara, brother Tim and his wife Susan, brother Kevin and his wife Sharon, and several nieces and nephews on both his and his wife's side. He will be welcomed to a peaceful rest by his recently deceased wife, Elaine, his in-laws Henry and Eleanor Pearce, and his parents John and Margaret Dukin. Larry spent most of his life living in Dover, graduating from St. Mary's school in Wharton, before moving to Flanders with his family. A 1969 graduate of Morris Catholic High School and a 1973 graduate of the University of Scranton with a B. S. degree in accounting, he was employed by Price Waterhouse, Standard Roofing, and Mobil Oil. Later in life he also worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Hackettstown until retirement.
A fan of many different sports, especially basketball, he also enjoyed traveling with his wife and her family. The last trip he went on was his dream trip, a cruise to Alaska which he greatly enjoyed. He could often be found at various basketball games that his daughter went to or his nephews played in. His other great passion was fishing. He became a Master Mason and was a member of Acacia Lodge #20. Larry was very active in the Order of the Eastern Star and is a Past Patron and Past Grand Officer, he wasa member of Pearl Chapter and later Starlight Chapter. He was also very active in IORG, achieving the Grand Cross of Color and was a member of the State Executive Board for many years. A true family man, who always put others before himself, he will be greatly missed by family and friends who take peace in knowing he is no longer suffering. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
