Obituary of Effthemia Kapantais
Effthemia “Effie” Kapantais, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Highland Hills Care Center in Bellingham, Washington under hospice care.
Effthemia was born March 5, 1935, the daughter of John and Anthoula Lagios. She was employed for over 15 years at Saint Clares Hospital, Denville, NJ. Effie was a member of St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, Randolph until she moved to live with family in California and Canada in 2012. She loved her family, culture, religion, cooking Greek meals for everyone, and growing flowers and vegetables in her garden.
Effthemia is survived by her sister Niki; many nieces and nephews; and her two joys in life, her grandsons Alexander and Nicholas Zorzoris and their mom Kim. Effie is predeceased by her husband Emmanuel Kapantais and her son John Zorzoris in 2011. She is also predeceased by her parents, her sister Demi Victor, and her brothers Markos and Peter Lagios.
