Obituary of Anthony C Caserta
Anthony “Tony” Charles Caserta, 92, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021. Tony was a life long resident in Randolph, NJ and owned and operated Tony Caserta Excavating for 41 years. He married Joan Habbart on December 31, 1951 in Randolph, NJ.
Tony grew up farming. He served in the Army and played baseball with Willy Mays, John Antonelli and Vernon Law. He worked for Worthington Pump and Westinghouse before starting his own excavating business. One of his passions was baseball which he played most of his life, even tried out for the Yankees in 1950! His other passion was when he and his wife, Joan, traveled the US in their RV’s along with many TCW (FMCA affiliated) friends. He was a great storyteller and kept the family laughing with his jokes and funny faces. He would do push ups for anyone who would watch and keep the dance floor smoking. He was a member of Randolph Chemical Engine Company #2 and donated the millstone located in front of the firehouse. He could fix anything with leftover parts and was loved by everyone he met.
He is survived by: his wife: Joan Caserta; Daughters: Mary Caserta Baker, Jo Caserta Harper, Toni Caserta Khoury; Grandchildren: Kyle (Christina) Baker, Danielle (Jamie) Hutchinson, Mandy (Jeff) Fedor, Crystal (Mason) Matthews, Shana (Jared) Cropley, Tina (James) Reinke, Samantha (Michael Calia) Khoury, Great-Grandchildren: Colby & Cade Fedor, Ashlin & Braylin Pannill, Levi & Logan Matthews, Mia Baker & Emma Fahnestock, Grady & Anna Reinke, Aidan & Jaxon Cropley, Michael, Mark & Athana Calia, Sister: Maria Hoernig: Beloved Pet: AshB and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death – Michael Caserta (son); Mark Khoury (grandson); Anthony and Alfonsa (Sozio) Caserta (parents); Rose Franchi, Carol Lepre, Margaret Caserta (his twin), (sisters), Charles Caserta (brother)
