Obituary of Harold Bertram Jelonnek
Harold B. Jelonnek, 89, Denville, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 12, 2021 with his family at his side.
Born in Linde, Germany to Gustav & Emilie Jelonnek. At the age of 21, he immigrated to the United States. He joined the Army and was stationed in Germany and Colorado Springs, CO where he met and married his wife, Waltraud (Trudy).
Harold’s education included a 3 year apprenticeship which lead to his lifetime career as a machinist. He eventually went on to own Bertot Industries with his brother, Artur.
Proud of his German heritage, he was an active member of Germania Park. He was very out going and loved to be with people. He enjoyed traveling, hiking and was never at a loss for a story.
Harold is survived by his daughter, Sue & her husband Rick; son, Curtiss & his wife Tracy; brother Artur and his wife Doris and by his most cherished granddaughters Krista, Samantha, Amanda and Janice her husband Robert; Grandson Rick and great grandchildren Jacob, Lily and Faith to who he will always be remembered as Opa. Along will several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Celebration of life will be held at Germania Park on December 5, 2021 at 11:00 am. Arrangements by Tuttle Funeral Home.
