As a member of the Harris, Henderson, Hill branch of the Brown family...the English language is somewhat limited in conveying the pain of the losses we've suffered...the loss of "Uncle Charlie" is no less painful...my memories include a time when many of those we've lost were alive...all piled over to the Brown household...Ray Goodman and Brown's "Special Lady" or Gladys Nights "Midnight Train to Georgia" (my cousins will laugh at this one) Fonda Ray's "Over Like a Fat Rat" playing on the stereo...back when you got your 45's from Mr. Brookes shop "uptown"... grown-ups laughing playing cards...children everywhere happy and safe...at one family cook-out he yelled out to the kids time to eat...this little boy from nowhere showed up for his burger and hot dog...Uncle Charlie asked me and "Little Charlie", whose kid is this cause he ain't one of ours...Uncle Charlie didn't even wait for an answer he asked the kid did he want a soda told him don't waste his food and go play with the rest of the kids...this man was loved...my hope is that we as a family will be there to greet him and all of the precious loved ones we've lost...a time when Jesus with the love, might and power of Jehovah will say "come out"...-Tawanne Simone Harris

I'm sorry to Mr. Brown's family for their loss. I was a friend of his sons, and from conversations about family with him, of which there were many, he was a great father and a good man. The picture of him looks so much like his son. Though I only met him a few times, over the years I've often thought of him and the rest of the family. I hope that somewhere him and Charles are together. - Joe
