Obituary of Regina Patasius McGovern
Regina "Jean" Patasius McGovern, 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Saint Clare's Dover Hospital.
Jean was born in Hanau, Germany, Jean held various jobs throughout her life and when she married Felix McGovern, her most important job and talent was being a mom, to her 5 sons and her daughter. and making a home for her family,
Jean was a talented crafter and a person that never complained, she only wanted to put everyone else first. She had a great sense of humor and had the prettiest smile. She not only raised six kids she was also a mom to so many of our friends, they knew that they had a place to lay their head and get something to eat if they needed too and she would let you know if you were doing wrong! She let you know that you were loved, and she would fiercely protect her family, a momma bear was her ' all the way.
Jean was a sports mom, running from field to field in Kearny when we had baseball, soccer, football games or whatever we were doing mom would somehow some way show up to see us, literally running from Vets field to see James' baseball game, to Harvey field to see Joe play soccer and to the Gunnel Oval to see Phil play in his game because we were all playing at the same time at different fields. She was a super woman most of the time.
Jean will be forever missed. She is survived by her sons; James McGovern, Michael (Libby) McGovern, Joseph (Janyce) McGovern, Phil McGovern, and her only daughter Kathleen (Brian) Gearhart, her greatest joys are her grandchildren whom she was very proud of; Michael Felix, Donovan, Jackie, Sean, Brayden and Jayda. She is also survived by her daughter in law Bonnie McGovern, her sister Vera Patasius and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She was predeceased by her husband Felix, January, 2022 and her oldest son John 2010, her parents Frank and Anneliese and her brother Peter
