Obituary of Ingrid Ottoson Williams

Ingrid Ottoson Williams passed peacefully on November 11, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.  

Ingrid was born to Karl Gustav Ottoson and Ruth Claudelin Ottoson on July 13, 1948 in Dover, New Jersey.  She grew up in Randolph, New Jersey with older sister Kristine Ottoson Perry and her younger brother Gus Ottoson.  As a young girl, Ingrid took up piano and quickly developed a passion for music and reading, passions she would pursue the rest of her life.  Ingrid graduated from Randolph High School in 1966. 

Following high school, Ingrid attended Bucknell University where she would meet her beloved husband, Scott Roger Williams. Following college, Ingrid and Scott lived briefly in Rutherford before settling in Mendham, New Jersey.  Ingrid was a loving mother to her two children, daughter Jennifer and son Michael. 

Professionally, Ingrid worked as a paralegal for a law firm in New York right out of college but left her position as a paralegal to pursue her passion for the organ. She returned to pursue a Masters degree in Music and served as the organist and chorus director for a number of churches until her retirement. During this time she was known as the neighborhood piano teacher teaching the piano to dozens of children in the area and holding piano parties in her living room. 

She will be remembered for her kind, loving, and quirky nature.  She is predeceased by her husband Scott.  She will be greatly missed by her brother Gus and his wife Janice, sister, Kristine Perry, her children, Michael and Jennifer, and their spouses Aarti Williams and Jean-Philippe Dumont.  She also leaves behind four grandchildren.
