Nonnina,
You worked so hard to keep us overly fed with your delicious baked ziti and stuffed shells. I knew you only through Christmas eve and significant family events when I was younger. You always provided the entire family to their fill, and after dinner, you brought everyone to your basement "shop rite store" where you kept: can goods, Tupperware of leftovers, Italian pastries, and of course, taralli and made sure everyone had food for their homes. You inspired me and the rest of us with your hard work and kindness.
After college, a job brought me to New Jersey, where I could spend more days with you. Getting you to Connecticut to visit my mother and father, we would talk both the way up and down, and we were able to build a much closer connection. Even when you were worried that we would get back too late on Sunday night, you knew that we always got home safely. I will always miss those drives with you.
When you met my wife, Min, you welcomed her with open arms and taught her how to make rice balls. I heard that you loved Min and approved of her, and nothing made me happier.
You shared your cooking, home, and knowledge with anyone who would accept it. You were always kind and generous, and I have learned so much from you.
Thank you so much, and we love you,
Alex & Min

I am in my fourth year of medical school. While interviewing for jobs as a resident, I am often asked “So tell me about yourself.” I proudly tell them that my mom, Clementina, was born and raised in Calabria. She is one of seven and I have over 20 cousins, and counting!
I tell them family, tradition, and culture are a big part of who I am as an individual and I owe many thanks to my Nonnina. I wrote in my personal statement “Through the deft and deliberate actions of Nonnina, I discovered how food can bring people together… I admired her, able to bring our large, loud Italian family around a shared table.”
I’ve learned so much from Nonnina. She taught me how to work hard, love a stranger, be patient, kind but honest and never disguise my truth. I am who I am because of her. I will be a better person and doctor because of Nonnina. I will honor her with every mention of her name and with every fond memory each and every day.
Rest easy, Nonnina. I love you so much!

Antonella posted a condolence

Ma, I will miss you forever, love Antonella.
Do you know a Catizone?
Do you love a Catizone?
Then….you have my mother to thank.
As many of you know if you read her obituary she worked so very hard to get to this country with 7 kids little money and huge aspirations for a better life for her children.
My name is Antonella. I’m her last child. As the last of such a big family I learned a lot by just watching everyone around me.
I’ve watched my mother work hard to support her family, show us a strong work ethic save every possible penny and cook for her loved ones. I’ve watched her teach my older siblings how to work hard take care of each other, how to raise a family.
My mom showed her love with cooking. Her hands were hands of a woman that worked, her entire life.
Hands that built a house pregnant in our town in Italy with my dad
hands that picked vegetables to feed her family
hands that cooked the food to show her love for us.
Hands that held all of our babies tight and close to her heart from the day they were born
Hands that were always so soft & gentle despite her hard work
I’d like to say that she succeeded. She loved every one of us equally.
She was funny, sarcastic, sometimes fresh but never met a person she wouldn’t feed and welcome into her home for a meal.
I’m proud to say I’m her daughter
There are no words to describe how I feel losing my mom, although I know she’s in heaven enjoying my dad, I selfishly wanted her here with me longer. But now, I have another angel, I pray to her and God to watch over all of us to be the best we can be and half the fighter she was.
If you love a Catizone, you can thank Nonnina. Nonnina, I love you so much, I will miss you forever and my life will never be the same. Love you Ma.

who we are:
Tuttle Funeral home was designed as a funeral home by funeral home architects and designers. Unllike many funeral homes that were originally old homes and then were converted into funeral homes.
Though it was designed as a funeral home, it still provides the warm comforting feeling of a home, but with more space and an open feeling.
Our location
272 Highway 10 Randolph
