Obituary of Robert Kenneth Parlato
Robert Kenneth Parlato passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Fort Pierce, FL, he was 96.
Bob was born in Orange, NJ on April 17, 1926 and spent most of his life in New Jersey. After graduating from Orange High School in 1944, he enlisted in the US Navy where he served for 2 years. During his enlistment he was stationed in Panama aboard the submarine, USS Bowfin SS-287.
When he was honorably discharged, he worked and attended Rutgers University He received his Bachelor’s degree in Education and went on to earn his Masters degree. He taught history at Frelinghuysen Junior High School in Morris Township, New Jersey and retired after 35 years.
In 1959, Bob and his wife Trudy, bought a home in Randolph, NJ where he lived until 2018. After retiring, Bob bought a condo in Fort Pierce, FL and started splitting their time between New Jersey and Florida. In 2018, he sold the house in Randolph and made Fort Pierce his full-time residence.
Bob was an avid sports fan rooting for the NY Giants and Detroit Tigers. He loved playing golf and bocce. Bob and the neighborhood bocce team competed and won a Sambucca sponsored bocce tournament in New York City! Bob also enjoyed traveling and looked forward to the annual trip to Aruba with a group of close friends.
But what Bob enjoyed most and was most proud of was his family. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The way his face lit up when he was with them is what we’ll always remember.
He was preceded in death by his wife Trudy (Longo), his parents, Thomas A. Parlato Sr and Columbia Electra Parlato, brother Thomas A. Parlato Jr and 2nd wife, Anna (Cardulla) in 2020.
Bob is survived by his two loving children, daughter Denise Nayman and husband Mark and son Bobb Parlato and his wife Deborah. Five grandchildren, Alexandra Parlato, Victoria Davidson and her husband Nate, Troy Parlato and wife Jessica, Kaylee DiGiovanna and her husband Mike, and Brittany Nayman. Three grandchildren, Hadlee Parlato, Lucan and Roark Davidson.
