Obituary of Librada Garcia Alea
Librada Garcia Alea, 81, known to many as "Lib" or "Tita Bading" passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023.
Librada graduated from Far Eastern University in the Philippines with a bachelor's degree in Medical Technology and later earned a certification from Muhlenberg Medical Center in the same field after moving to the United States in 1969. She worked as a medical technologist between Dover General Hospital, St. Clares Hospital and Morristown Medical Center for over 35 years combined. After retirement, she volunteered at Dover General Hospital for 3 years providing hospital services.
Librada was a faithful Catholic who attended mass regularly, prayed on a daily basis and even joined religious pilgrimages domestically and abroad. In fact, she was an avid traveler who visited sites such as Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Germany, Russia, Sweden, London, Israel and the Vatican to name a few. She was enamored by the history of The Royal Family and could answer any related trivia on one of her favorite TV shows Jeopardy!. Her hobbies included collecting jewelry, Lenox keepsakes and Iladro sculptures. She enjoyed sampling a wide range of cuisines and was known for making her famous empanadas, pecan tarts and turkey stuffing.
Librada is survived by her husband, Floro; daughter Mildred Trautman, her husband Eric and their daughters Emily and Eve; son Michael, his wife Patricia and their children Jacob and Zoe; siblings Crisanto, Teresita and Roberto;. She was predeceased by her parents, Emilio and Teofista; and sisters, Cecilia and Trinidad.
