Sorry to learn of Helen Pennella's passing , I was regular customer at Carmen's Luncheonette from 1960 to 1964 as a kid and teenager at East Dover Elementary School and in the Summer with my friends Ralph Costanza, Jim Arico , and Joe Arico. Carmen and Helen were always nice and patient with us.I can still hear the popular tunes on the juke box at Carmens , Dion, Ricky Nelson and the Beatles .Helen was great worker in her spare time at the Dover Historical Society! My condolences to her family and friends! God Bless and R.I.P.

Deepest condolences to the family and friends of Helen. When I was in high school I worked at Carmen’s.. Helen and Carmen were two of the nicest people who made my very first job a pleasant one. While working there I was going through some personal issues. Helen helped me through those issues and I will never forget her kindness. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel.

I have so many fun memories of times in Carmen's Luncheonette with friends and also with my father, who loved hanging out there too. Helen was always smiling and so friendly to everyone. It was a wonderful place to go and there just aren't places like that anymore. The end of an era of small town life which I was so fortunate to experience in Dover. I loved her family too. My love to all of you.

My wife & I have known Helen for many years. She served the Dover Community in many ways. We were on the Dover Free Library Board together & she was relentless in her love & service to the Library. There will never be another Helen! My wife is a long time “Doverite” so she remembers the luncheonette & the Snow Cones.

I grew up block away from Carmen’s. Helen was always behind the candy counter as we spent our pennies on candy. Most of all was how she received my children when I took them to Carmen’s for some candy. She never forgot who I was and my family. RIP Helen. Anthony G Negri Jr

I have such fond memories of Aunt Helen taking David and me to the shore for many years. Uncle Carmen would drive us down and come a week later after David and I ate our way thru the resort community. I also remember alot of fun sleepovers down on Richards Avenue. We had such a wonderful early life and Aunt Helen helped make that happen. As with the rest of the Ciardi family I am saddened with the lost of the last Ciardi sibling (Mary, Minnie, Al, Angie, Helen and Dominic) but also heartened by the legacy this Ciardi family left in their community and country. They were all hard-working and made opportunities for themselves and families. Thank you Ciardi's. Thank you Aunt Helen.
Love, Jim, Barbara, Julie, Michael and families.

who we are:
Tuttle Funeral home was designed as a funeral home by funeral home architects and designers. Unllike many funeral homes that were originally old homes and then were converted into funeral homes.
Though it was designed as a funeral home, it still provides the warm comforting feeling of a home, but with more space and an open feeling.
