Bill was our neighbour. The sweetest thing to ever exist on this earth. He was so kind to my family and I! When we first moved he made sure we knew we could count on him. I loved the small talk we exchanged during the day whenever I left home. I will never forget the moment he noticed the town wasn't taking our trash and he took his time to call and fix it as well as let us know. Not anyone would do what he did for us. We will always remember him as a bright and caring soul. I look up to him and hope to leave kindness and joy just like Bill did.

Bill was an exceptional friend, he truly cared about people. He would push through his own challenges to help others without question. His kindness and generosity will be remembered forever. Bill was a good friend and neighbor to my family for 40+ years. Bill was kind and considerate and funny. I surely enjoyed our talks! I will miss calling him just to shoot the breeze, talk about the weather or one of his favorite subjects politics. Bill thanks for being such a good friend to me and my family. You will be missed! Bill was a good friend to us. We would meet every Wednesday for breakfast at Rosie's Diner in Kenvil. We talked about what was going in our lives and also discussed current events in the news. We will miss him. Barbara and Joe Williams

I taught with Bill for more than 30 years. He was a wonderful teacher and person. The fourth graders who had him just loved him and his sense of humor. One of the most generous people I know, Bill hosted many a breakfast for retirees, many lunches for veterans, plus a Chinse New Year celebration at the Gold Coin in Dover. Bill will be sorely missed by all his colleagues.

Once Bill was your friend he was a friend forever. He was an eternal optimist and had the best sense of humor of anyone I know. He made me laugh from my soul! We always had great times together. I taught at East Dover Elementary School with Bill for 12 years. When we team-taught together we’d touch base everyday after school. He was just the best! Had great ideas. Bill loved kids. He always wanted the best for everyone. Charitable and big-hearted he helped others in need. And he financially supported veterans. Bill was one of my very best friends and will always hold a special place in my heart.
