Obituary of Jeffrey G Guidette
Jeffrey G. Guidette, 81, formerly of Hackettstown, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Artis Senior Living in Princeton.
Jeff was born and raised in Longmeadow, MA, a town that held his heart and where he maintained friendships throughout his life. He earned his bachelor’s degree from AIC and MBA from Syracuse University. Jeff played tennis and basketball while at AIC, including #1 Singles for three years while on the Yellow Jackets' tennis team. He continued his passion for tennis for the remainder of his life.
He married Elizabeth Handfield (Betsy) in 1964 and, along with their three children, they became expert movers and made homes in six states. Jeff enjoyed a successful career in purchasing, including 30 years at BASF in Mt. Olive, culminating in the position of Senior Vice President. Upon retirement, he served the community on several boards, including the Family Guidance Center of Warren County.
Jeff greatly enjoyed vacations in Cape Cod (specifically, Pilgrim Village in Chatham), international travel, the NY Giants, working out, red wine and the holidays. He especially loved spending Christmas week with his family. He is remembered by his children for both his optimism and strength in difficult times. Even when his health faltered, Jeff retained an admirably upbeat outlook.
