Obituary of Mildred Petronella

In loving memory of Mildred Petronella, 95, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 20 2023 surrounded by her family who were the absolute light of her life.

Millie was born on June 18, 1928 and grew up on a farm, cementing her “farm girl” attitude for the remainder of her life. She is described as a firecracker who was ahead of her time; she was not afraid of speaking her mind and asking for what she wanted. Millie was a whiz with numbers, never forgetting phone numbers or dates. Her family will have to invest in calendars to keep track of birthdays and anniversaries for the first time in their lives! She appreciated the simple things in life – a beautiful day, a nice walk, good conversation, or a good meal. Over the years, Millie had great friends and was known to tell everyone that she loved them, a sentiment true to her spirit.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Joe, with whom she is undoubtably elated to be reunited. Millie is survived by her pride and joy, daughter Diane Malcuit and son-in-law Don Malcuit, son Bob Petronella and daughter-in-law Darcy Petronella, and son Jim Petronella and daughter-in-law Sunny Yoon. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, John (Katherine) Malcuit, Suzanne Malcuit, Taryn Petronella, Nicholas Petronella (predeceased) and Jake (Lauren) Petronella as well as three great grandchildren, Mark, Ted, and Louisa Malcuit to whom she was affectionately known as “GG.”
