Obituary of Charles W. Taylor Jr.
Charles W. Taylor, Jr. passed away after a brief illness at the age of 61, at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, NJ on November 29, 2023.
Charles (also known as Charlie, Chuck, or Bud) was born in Denville and spent his early years in Mount Tabor and Mountain Lakes. He then attended Lycoming College, where he received a degree in Criminal Justice. After moving back to the Indian Lake section of Denville, he met and married his wife, Barbara Magee, and became a step-father to her four children.
Charles worked for many years as a police officer with the Morris County Park Police, and was part of the search and rescue team trained in the use of motorcycle, bicycle, and ATV. After retiring from the police department, he worked as a security officer with Randolph High School. In his spare time, Charles loved boating, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. He was a great cook and always had a love for animals.
Charles and Barbara moved to Tuckerton in early 2023 and were looking forward to enjoying a carefree life on the water with their new puppy Roxi.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Anne Taylor, and is survived by his wife, Barbara, his sister Barbara Taylor, his step-children, Jason (and wife Amy), Breanna, Alisha, and Danny Vitaletti, and his granddaughters Lynnea, Kayla, and Kiarah Vitaletti.
Memorial Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 between 12 pm and 2 pm at Tuttle Funeral home, located at 272 Route 10, Randolph.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
