Obituary of Raymond Bauman

Raymond W. Bauman passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2023 after a short illness.  He was 81.

Ray was born in Phillipsburg, NJ, on May 7, 1942.  He grew up in Pattenburg and graduated from North Hunterdon Regional High School in 1960. Ray attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and graduated in 1965 with a bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering.  

Ray worked as an engineer for Bendix Corp. in Teterboro and later for Kearfott Guidance & Navigation Systems in Fairfield and Little Falls, NJ, where he worked from December 1971 to May 2013. 

Ray was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, as well as boating and water skiing.  He also volunteered as a swim official for many years when his daughters swam competitively. In his later years, he enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and spectating at his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. 

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Bauman (nee Snyder), his three daughters, Jennifer Bauman, Lisa Bauman, and Samantha Wood and her husband, Frederick.  He is also survived by his five beloved grandchildren, Grace, CJ, Morgan, Abigail, and Jonathan.  

A memorial service will be held at Tuttle Funeral Home on Monday, December 11, 2023, from 2-4 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Hope Network.
