Dear Virginia,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I have just heard about gis passing today. Bill "Billy" spent a great deal of time at our house while growing up in Towaco. We would play in the peach orchard and in the woods, or on bikes. Then came the years of first vehicles. Instead of playing in the orchard, they would be playing in the garage on Steve's Vega. Bill spent a great deal of time keeping that car running for my brother! As our lives changed, so did our distance from each other.
We were very honored the two of you came to our mother's memorial service. Steve especially, since he and Bill had not seen each other in many years, likely since graduation! I did have contact with Bill a few times, though I didn't keep up with him as well as I should have. I am sorry about that. One never knows what will happen down the road.

Way back in 1963 my family moved to Towaco. Another family moved in next door. Billy (as he was called then) and I became friends. We played all kinds of board games. In the summer it was baseball in the backyard. We both had minibikes which we drove around both backyards. When he got his driver's license, we would go to Two Guys or later the mall. Much later Virginia joined the party. We sort of lost touch for a while but one day out of the blue Bill called. I was so pleased to hear from him. Covid kept us from getting together but we kept in touch by email. He also faithfully watched on-line the times I preached at different churches. It was my hope that we would soon get together and start with the board games once again since that is what folks our age do. I will greatly miss my old friend and playmate. We are keeping Virginia in prayer at this difficult time.

Virginia, I am so sorry for your loss. I was utterly shocked to hear that Bill had passed away. It won't be the same around the complex, not seeing him outside when Tom and I walk by -- whether he was fussing in the garden, talking to other neighbors or the two of you sitting on the patio. Tom and I always enjoyed conversations with the both of you.
