Obituary of Pamela Mellott

Pamela  (Schwartz)  Mellott, 79, of Randolph, NJ passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024 at St. Claire Hospital in Dover, NJ.

Pam was a Jersey girl, born and raised. She was born on March 12, 1945, in South Orange, NJ. Pam married John on December 12, 1964, and they enjoyed 59 wonderful and devoted years together.  Pam was large and in charge in every aspect of her life.  She ran a tight ship at home and in the offices that she administered.  She made sure everything was taken care of, especially for her family.  She was a loyal, loving, and supportive woman, always willing to help with anything someone needed. She was a doting wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Pam was always available for support, guidance, and advice. 

Pam was an avid gardener and took joy in maintaining beautifully manicured flower and vegetable gardens in their several different homes over the years, then later around the grounds of the adult communities they resided in.  A true passion was the many animals, of all varieties that she welcomed into her heart and her home.  Pam treasured them all.  Certainly her beloved CoCo. She was good at training dogs, and she, along with her three children, Russell, Garrett and Stephanie, were involved with fostering and training dogs for the seeing eye dog program. Pam also welcomed many foster children into their home over the years. She cherished her relationship with her sister-in-law Sue.  Together they sewed, baked, and camped.  

Pam was active in her living communities, participating in the HOA membership, grounds committees, book club, new member liaison, and dining committee.  She redefined her life five years ago, after her previous bout with respiratory struggles.  She became more active and was determined to improve the quality of her life.  It was with that hard work and determination that she became more active in family communication and functions.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, Kyle, Jenna, Michael and Gavin, and most recently Jenna gave birth to Pam’s first great-grandchild, Leo.  Pam’s love for her family shined in everything she did.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10, Randolph.
