Obituary of Gary George Roman
Gary George Roman, 65, passed away peacefully at home in the White Meadow Lake section of Rockaway Township after a short illness. Gary was born in Passaic, NJ to Beverly H. Beckage and the late George A. Roman.
Gary is survived by Linda, his wife of 43 years, his two children, Christopher Roman of Wharton and Jonathan Roman and his wife Marla of Glen Ridge, and his two loving cats, Mia and Nyla.
He is also survived by his two sisters, Patricia Thompson and Pamela Roman.
Gary grew up in Garfield and later Randolph, graduating from Randolph High School and then the County College of Morris. He worked numerous jobs in his early years including Two Guys, Eaton, Prudential, and UPS. Most recently, he spent 16 years as a Network System Administrator for the Washington Township Board of Education (Long Valley), which he retired from in July of 2021.
His interests were soccer (coaching and watching), craft beer, cars, trains, animals, and the outdoors. He was also handy and was an expert on anything involving computers. His calming influence and ability to think outside the box were an asset at work and to his family.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter.
His life will be celebrated at The Barrel Room at Fort Nonsense Brewing Company in Randolph on Sunday, May 5 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM.
