Obituary of Teresa C Kopp

Teresa Cecilia Kopp "Chipso" – Born in Dover, N.J. on December 31, 1928, one of 11 children born to Meri and Andrew Chirip. She is predeceased by her husband William R. Kopp, her ten siblings and all her in-laws.

Teresa passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024. She was 95 years old.

She graduated from Dover High School in 1946 and worked at Woolworths in Dover as a bookkeeper.

She married William R. Kopp on May 21, 1950, in Sacred Heart Church, Dover NJ. They lived in Dover until 1955 when they established a home in Mine Hill where they raised two sons (Bill and Kevin).

Teresa was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Wharton.

From 1964 until retiring in 1994 she worked in the Academy Street School Cafeteria. She enjoyed her coworkers and always got a kick out of the young students with their funny stories.

Since 2018 Teresa has resided at Sunrise Assisted Living, a wonderful facility, in Randolph, NJ.

Teresa and husband Bill did quite a lot of traveling. Vacation cruises to various islands, car trips around the country, and special trips to Las Vegas and Hawaii.

A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her two sons William and Kevin, Kevin's wife Dee, two grandchildren Alyssa (husband Tim) and Samantha (husband Steve) and her great granddaughter Charlotte. She will also be greatly missed by many adult nephews and nieces and her close longtime friends.

Teresa loved her family above all else. On every holiday she enjoyed decorating the house from top to bottom. She loved to cook and especially loved creating personalized birthday cakes. She also enjoyed ceramics, bowling and most of all, spending time with her loving family. In later years she enjoyed her bus trips with the "gang" to AC and card games with the "gang" in her home. She was also a big Yankee fan.

She will be deeply missed. Her love, kindness and friendship will remain with everyone she knew.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 30, from 4pm to 7pm at Tuttle Funeral Home. Family and Friends are welcome to come pay their respects. Family and Friends will reconvene on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Tuttle Funeral Home from 10:00 am – 11:00 pm for a Catholic Prayer service and remembrances followed by a short burial service at the Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover. A repass will be held immediately following the burial service at the Wharton American Legion.
