Obituary of Dennis Francis McManus
Dennis Francis McManus, 73, a proud Brooklyn, NY native most recently of Randolph, NJ - a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend - left our world on June 2, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family after a life well lived.
Dennis was a man of great character, wisdom and faith, a lover of history and the arts, and a true “family man,” cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia, dedicated sons Brendan and Conor (wife Jennifer), and his grandchildren Luke (8) and Harper (6). Dennis is predeceased by his parents, Francis and Eileen McManus, and brother Timothy McManus. He is also survived by siblings Ellen Conroy (husband Michael), Michael McManus (wife Patricia), Marianne Brown (husband Patrick), Patrick McManus (wife Karen), Eileen Smyth (husband Thomas) and Elizabeth McManus (sister-in-law).
Dennis and Patricia have been married for 47 years and raised their children in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. Dennis was a proud graduate of Manhattan College and enjoyed an illustrious career in telecommunications, most notably at NYNEX Corp. (now Verizon) for over 27 years where he rose to Senior Vice President and Managing Director and was fortunate to travel the world. Most recently, he found joy spending time with Luke and Harper, intently listening to their stories and attending their many activities. Their laughter and smiles were the highlights of his days.
A role model, mentor, supporter, and teacher – the best father anyone could have - he instilled in Brendan and Conor the mantra to always “do the right thing.” A loyal friend, ardent New York Jets fan, and incredible storyteller with a dry wit, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In remembrance, a Visitation will take place on June 5, 2024 at Tuttle Funeral Home (272 Route 10, Randolph, NJ 07869) from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church (335 Dover Chester Rd, Randolph, NJ 07869) on June 6, 2024 at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting in memoriam donations be made to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation to help support cholangiocarcinoma research. Gifts can be made online at https://curecca.link/DennisMcManus.
