Obituary of Michael Allen Hartman
Michael Allen Hartman, 78, passed away on July 17, 2024, at his home in Long Valley, New Jersey. Born on February 4, 1946, in Joplin, Missouri, Michael was a gentle man, known for his kindness and quick-witted humor. He led a fulfilling career as a District Manager at AT&T, demonstrating a profound commitment to his work and the people he supervised.
Michael graduated from Joplin High School, then earned a Bachelor's degree in Business from Pittsburg State University and a Master’s degree in Business from Wichita State University.
A devoted family man, Michael is survived by his loving wife, Laurie, his daughters, Christi and Shelly, his son-in-law Jim, and his cherished grandchildren, Tristan and Abbey. He is also survived by his brother Albert "Butch" Hartman and his sister Betty Allison. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ruth Hartman, and his sister, Barbara Bible.
An avid gardener, birdwatcher, and golfer, Michael found great joy and relaxation in these hobbies, which he pursued with enthusiasm throughout his life. He loved watching the birds, deer, foxes and other wildlife in his backyard and often photographed many of his favorites.
The services to honor Michael's legacy will be held at Tuttle Funeral Home (Tuttlefh.com), Randolph, New Jersey, on Monday, July 22, 2024. The viewing is scheduled for 10:30 AM, followed by the service at 11:30 AM. Burial will take place at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be considered for Karen Anne Quinlan Hospice, honoring Michael's compassionate spirit.
Michael's warmth, humor, and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
