Obituary of Robert Christian Krueger
Robert C Krueger, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024, in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Born on May 9, 1931, in Newark, NJ, Robert's life was a testament to dedication, love, and service to others.
Robert was the cherished son of Christian and Clara Krueger. He spent his early years in Union, NJ. There he attended Union High School, where he thrived both academically and athletically. An athlete from the start, he lettered in baseball, basketball, and football. His love for sports, particularly golf, continued throughout his life, and he maintained a single-digit handicap for most of his years.
After high school, Robert answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Army. He served with honor from February 13, 1952, to February 12, 1954 and attained the rank of Sergeant. Following his military service, Robert embarked on a successful career, eventually becoming the Executive Vice-President and part owner of the H.F Butler Corporation of Union, NJ, a heavy plate steel fabrication company.
On September 8, 1957, Robert married the love of his life, Helen Wisniewski, in Dover, NJ. Their union was blessed with 47 beautiful years of marriage before Helen's passing. Together, they lived in Randolph, NJ and raised a wonderful family, creating countless cherished memories. Robert is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Krueger who passed in 2004.
Robert’s commitment to his community was unwavering. He volunteered as a Rules Official for the New Jersey State Golf Association for 30 years; a role in which he was awarded the prestigious Honey Gantner Award for his distinguished service. Known for his gregarious personality, Robert made friends effortlessly and was a familiar face to every professional and top amateur golfer in New Jersey.
Robert is survived by his loving son, Robert C Krueger Jr, his daughter-in-law, Megan K Krueger, and his treasured grandchildren, Robert C Krueger III and Maeve E Krueger. His family was his pride and joy, and he relished every moment spent with them.
A celebration of Robert's life will be held at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph, NJ. The Visitation will be on Friday, August 2, 2024, from 4-8PM. A Funeral Service will be offered at the funeral home on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 9AM. The interment will be private.
