Dave will surely be missed not only by my family but all of the families and scouts that he shared time with over the years. We will especially miss his colorful stories and his friendship. We lost him way too soon. Our prayers and support go out to his family and friends.
BSA camps Wheeler, Winnebago, Barton, Somers, Rodney and Minsi and Dave was always there as a leader proudly helping to provide adventures for the boys in the T50. One picture that was shared was taken at Camp Rodney and where he is proudly sharing his patch earned from the Philmont Camp located in New Mexico. He trekked and backpacked with the Troop 50 for many years which was always a lifelong highlight for all that participated with his leadership. It is one of the high adventure trips that he loved to help plan, prepare and inspire others to try.
Philmont Scout Ranch, the Scouts of America's largest national High Adventure base, which challenges Scouts and Venturers with more than 214 square miles of rugged northern New Mexico wilderness. More than one million Scouts, Venturers, and leaders have experienced the adventure of Philmont since the first camping season in 1939. Scouts practice for their week in Philmont by participating in several "shakedowns" designed to test their ability to hike the distance required for the adventure while carrying all the gear they need.
Dave was also an excellent cook and he worked tirelessly preparing a wonderful home cooked meal from scratch with all of the other volunteers for many years for over 500 people. This was held at BSA Trexler Camp where we all participated in Pennsylvania to the Klondike Derby every January. As the boys participated and tested their skills in the cold all day being treated to a warm homecooked meal was a true highlight to all that participated. Beyond cooking he planned the menu, purchased the ingredients and even helped improve the kitchen equipment.
One recent highlight was his technical leadership support with my son Sean helping him design, plan and build his 2 large raised garden planters at the Randolph community garden at Veterans Park located on the far right side by the gardens shed. This was Sean’s eagle project completed in the summer of 2023 he was the troops eagle #121. Please visit it to help provide some comfort to all of those whose lives he touched.
May Dave rest in peace.

who we are:
Tuttle Funeral home was designed as a funeral home by funeral home architects and designers. Unllike many funeral homes that were originally old homes and then were converted into funeral homes.
Though it was designed as a funeral home, it still provides the warm comforting feeling of a home, but with more space and an open feeling.
Our location
272 Highway 10 Randolph
NJ, 07869
