Obituary of Patricia Ann Stuppiello
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Stuppiello, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who peacefully passed away on December 30, 2024, at the age of 85, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 26, 1939, in Passaic, New Jersey, Patty, or most notably, “Grandy,” was known for her spirited personality, her ability to keep everyone on their toes, her sweet smile, her kind heart, and her classy style. In her younger years she actively served her community as a leader in organizations such as Dover Junior Women’s Club, Dover Drug Abuse Council, American Field Service, and the Dover 250th Anniversary Committee. She was also an active participant in the Mothers Guild at Sacred Heart School in Dover, the PTA in Dover schools, and she was the cheerleading coordinator for the Dover Youth Football League. Patty was a positive contributor to her community. She worked tirelessly, relentlessly, and with an undying desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
As her children grew older, Patty re-entered the work force, where she worked throughout the years as an employment recruiter, customer service representative, and medical supply coordinator. She also worked various side jobs bartending and waitressing to make ends meet during tough times. She was a hard-working, determined woman who put her whole heart and soul into everything she did.
Aside from service and work, Patty loved to be social. She loved to meet up with the ladies to play cards, Scrabble, Rummikub, Mahjong, Bunko, or just go to lunch. In the summertime, most of her days would be spent at Horseshoe Lake with her toes in the sand, lounging and talking with friends, enjoying the sunshine, and of course, reading a good book. She also enjoyed attending various local concerts, as she really enjoyed music, especially from the 50’s and 60’s. Moreover, her greatest love was dancing. Until last year, she enjoyed her line dancing group and happily danced with them a few times each week. She was the life of the party when the music started playing, and when she danced, her smile lit up the room.
More than anything, Patty was a true matriarch. Her love of family was her most extraordinary gift. She was a devoted and active mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and being a person of deep convictions, she excitedly attended countless school events, sporting events, and other special events, all of which made her heart beam with pride and joy. Not only did she cheer on her family, but everyone else’s too!
Patricia was the loving mother of Jeffrey Bruscia (Linda), Lisa Barrett (John), and Cory Bruscia (Kerry). She was also the proud grandmother (Grandy) of Kyle Barrett (Brianna), Patrick Bruscia, Karly Barrett, Kenneth Bruscia (Meghan), Kristian Barrett, Maxwell Bruscia, and Olivia Bruscia. She most recently earned the title of Great-Grandy to seven-month-old, Brooks Barrett (Kyle and Brianna).
Patty never hesitated to advocate, protect, or care for her loved ones. Her charismatic presence, loving spirit, and classy style made her a uniquely special woman. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
