Obituary of Michael G. Dachisen, Sr.
Michael G. Dachisen, Sr., 58, a lifelong resident of Rockaway Township, passed away suddenly at his home, on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.
Michael was the current Mayor of Rockway Township, serving his second term. He loved Rockaway Township and all its residents. While Mayor he worked as a Systems Security Analyst for UPS for 22 years. He was a former volunteer fireman for Birchwood Company #4, and volunteered his time coaching hockey, softball and football for Rockaway Township. Before becoming Mayor, he was a Councilman and Council President of Rockaway Township. Michael loved his Harley, Corvette and cooking. He was a family man who loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by Catherine, his wife of 31 years; four children Leandra and her husband Alex Raybould of Denville, Michael, Jr. and his wife Michelle, Angela and her husband Joseph Pallay both of Rockaway Township and Derek and his wife Kimberly of Sparta; five grandchildren Amelia, Elizabeth, Brady, Ryleigh and a granddaughter on the way. He is also survived by his parents Stephen and Marion of Rockaway; four siblings Stephen, Jr. and his wife Pamela, Robert and his wife Kim, Darren, Sr and his wife Mechele and Lisa and her husband Franco Perrotti along with several nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs Marty and Cody. Predeceased by his great aunt Katie “Nan” Derowicz, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Martucci and a daughter Nicole.
Visitation Monday, August 20, 2018, 4:00-8:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 State Route 10 West, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Funeral Mass Tuesday, August 21, 2018, 10:00AM at St. Clement Pope and Martyr Church, Dover. Interment to follow at Rockaway Presbyterian Cemetery.
