Rocco N Gangemi, 96, peacefully passed away Thursday morning, May 11, 2023. Rocco was born in Dover, New Jersey May 19, 1927. He was the second of five children of which only three survived early childhood due to illnesses. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, serving as a Seaman First Class.  By the age of eight Rocco would type up menus at the family owned Crescent Bar and Grill. As a teen, he enjoyed theater and his train rides to New York City, which eventually led to his first career as a Claims Investigator for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad for 15 years. 

Followed by several years in hotel management he relocated to Delray Beach Florida, where he worked for the Delray Police Records Department well into his late 70's, after which time he became very involved as a volunteer for Hospice. Married for 64 years to his wife, "Lucille" who predeceased him in 2014.  He was a most devoted husband and father to his three children Donna Gangemi, John and Mery Gangemi and Regina and Michael Stalter. Proud grandfather of Michele and Tom Lovenberg, Nicole and Joseph Brogan, Jillian and Marc DiNanno, and Anthony Gangemi and Zachary Gangemi.  

Rocco was predeceased by his loving parents Catherine and Carmine Gangemi. Rocco was blessed with six great-grandchildren, Trevin and Teagan Lovenberg, Giavanna and Santino DiNanno and Declan and Grace Brogan. A loving brother, Carmine and Charlotte Gangemi, a younger deceased sister, Marie Pennella and numerous devoted, cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, many forever friends, and also the Arcila and Mesa families.

Rocco’s  faith, love of his family, and compassion to all were his greatest accomplishments. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 18 from 4 to 8 PM at Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph, New Jersey. The celebration of life mass will be Friday, May 19 at 10 AM at Saint Mary’s Church in Wharton, New Jersey.
