Obituary of James Thomas Shadwell

On Monday, December 25^th, 2023, James Shadwell, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at age 51.

James was born on August 14^th, 1972 in West Orange, NJ to William and Martha (Greco) Shadwell. He received his master’s degree in mathematics from Montclair State University and co-owned the company Business Solution Providers with his partner Russell Berman for 27 years. On November 27^th, 2004, he married Meghan Carty Shadwell. Together they raised three children, John, Ava, and Billy.

James was one of the kindest human beings one could ever meet and would constantly lend his help and support to anyone who needed it. He was fun loving, intelligent and extremely hard-working. His love for his family (his wife and children as well as his parents and 12 siblings, many nieces and nephews and extended family) was trumped by all else and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them.

James loved coaching the kids in wrestling and baseball and the kids meant the world to him. His passion and dedication to making the kids happy was evident to anyone who witnessed his interactions with them.

James was preceded in death by his father, William, and his mother Martha. He is survived by his wife Meghan, his three children John, Ava and Billy, his siblings William Shadwell (Pat Shadwell), Michael Shadwell (Cheryl Shadwell), Fr. Steven Shadwell, Fr. Damian Shadwell, Martha Shadwell, Genovieve Dickenman (Mark Dickenman), Christopher Shadwell (Kelly Shadwell), Elizabeth Frisch, Marianne Russo (Christopher Russo), David Shadwell (Catarina Shadwell), Peter Shadwell (Kriscelda Shadwell), Daniel Shadwell (Jennifer Shadwell) and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph, NJ (Tuttlefh.com) from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m.  on Friday December 29, 2023 at Resurrection Parish, Randolph NJ.  Entombment at Gate of Heaven Garden Mausoleum, East Hanover.
