Obituary of George Walter Hoagland
George Walter "Hoag" Hoagland 86 of Mendham New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 in Morristown, N.J. George was born in Morristown to Wesley and Ruth Hoagland of Brookside on October 1, 1937. He was a graduate of Morristown High School. He married his loving wife Joan (Mack) Hoagland on May 12, 1962 and were happily married for 62 years.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Donald Gesell Excavating in Mendham and later worked for the Mendham Borough Department of Public Works for 27 years and retired in 2004.
He enjoyed country music and playing the guitar, fishing, camping trips, tending to his vegetable and flower gardens, taking bus trips and cruising with the family. He also liked working with his hands, everything from auto and motorcycle repairs to wood working projects and home repairs.
He is predeceased by his daughter Linda Dunham of Succasunna, NJ.
George is survived by his loving wife Joan Hoagland, son Richard of Mendham, brothers Charles Hoagland (Linda) of Palm Bay, Florida, and John Hoagland (Beverly) of Toms River, New Jersey, son-in-law Paul Dunham of Succasunna, two grandchildren Timothy Dunham of Philadelphia and Robin Dunham of Little Egg Harbor, brother-in-laws Richard Mack and his wife Jane of Randolph, Robert Hosken of Morris Plains and sister-in-law Lorraine Lenihan of North Carolina, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial Visitation Monday, March 4, 2024 from 3:00PM - 4:30PM with a Memorial Service to begin at 4:30PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph (Tuttlefh.com) .
