Obituary of Emilly Soares Toso
Emilly Soares Toso, passed away peacefully on March 13th, 2024, at the age of 20. She is survived by her loving mother Lauda Smith, her father Vando Nascimento, her stepfather Donald Smith, her brother Victor Toso, her siblings on her father’s side and her stepbrother Donald Smith Jr.
Emilly was born on July 4th, 2003, in Newark, NJ and lived in Randolph, NJ with her mother, stepfather and younger brother. Emilly was full of life and always brought joy, light and laughter to everyone around her. She enjoyed reading, going to the movies and spending time with her friends and family. She loved her Jello, her Brazilian food, music, and if she could, would have a Five Guys milkshake every single day. She was spontaneous, adventurous and very quick witted. Emilly fought for the things she believed in and always looked to find the humor and light in every situation as evidenced by her numerous TikTok’s. At the age of 12, Emilly was diagnosed with Chordoma and went into remission at the age of 13. Unfortunately, in 2020, the cancer returned as Metastatic Chordoma, and although Emilly fought long and hard, she was at peace and was able to say goodbye to her loved ones prior to passing away, surrounded by love on March 13th, 2024.
Special thanks to Dr. Scott and Paulette Forbes, all the doctors, oncology nurses and oncology staff at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center for the care provided to Emilly and her family throughout the years.
Special thanks to Victor, the best little brother in the world who she loved with her whole heart, and Lauda, her mom who gave everything and more to take care of her little girl.
Special thanks to Donny for stepping into the role of stepdad from the very beginning, watching TV shows together, talking about life every night when everyone else was upstairs and being buddies. Emilly was Donny’s little girl and their relationship was one that she cherished and was eternally grateful for.
Most importantly, we would like to thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who carried us, was our firm foundation and never left our side throughout Emilly’s fight. Blessed be the name of the Lord, for he is our refuge and worthy of all our praise.
We ask that whenever you drink a Five Guys milkshake, a glass of very cold water, coco-cola or eat strawberries or jello, that you remember Emilly. We will carry your love and memory in our hearts forever.
A Visitation will be held at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Route 10 Randolph, on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 3:00PM-6:30PM, with a Funeral Service to follow starting at 6:30PM.
